82 YEAR-OLD MARKET WOMEN LEADER ASSASSINATED IN OGUN STATE

Abeokuta — Eighty two year-old Chief Alimot Shadia Kareem Owogold popularly known as Mama Elewuju has reportedly been assassinated at her residence in Ijebu Ode, Ogun state.
The yet to be identified killers numbering six stormed the residence of the late octogenarian at about 3 pm on Thursday and murdered her with machetes.
The Government Estate,Sabo-Molode,Itanrin road abode was said to be silent at the time of the incident.
Late Mrs. Owogold who bore the traditional title Iyaloja General of Ijebuland was political god mother of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Senatorial candidate for Ogun East, Dapo Abiodun.
She was present at the annual Ogun state organized Ramadan Iftar (breaking of fast) last Saturday in Abeokuta, Ogun state capital.
She was reported to be observing the Ramadan fast before her killers came calling and left without taking away anything.
